Synthesis Organics’ Founder named a finalist at national entrepreneur awards

It’s not easy running a successful business, especially during a pandemic and in regional Australia. Add being a new mum into the mix and you’ve got yourself a challenge.

Theme Rains - our Founder and Formulator - rose to the challenge, graciously pivoting in the face of setbacks while raising a newborn bub, Ziggy, who just turned one.

In recognition, she has just been announced as a finalist in not one, but six categories at this year’s prestigious AusMumpreneur awards. Learn more about her achievement below.

Theme Rains, Founder of holistic wellbeing company Synthesis Organics, has been named as a finalist for the 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards.

The AusMumpreneur Awards, presented by The Women’s Business School, celebrate and recognise Australian mums in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognise the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

Joining her in the finalist round include Channel 9 presenter Erin Nolan and Married At First Sight’s Jules Robinson - both of whom also run small businesses.

Theme has been named a finalist in six categories: Regional Business Award, Sustainable Product Award, Hair & Beauty Business Award, Health & Wellbeing Business Award, Handmade Business Award & Sustainability Award.

Theme is delighted to be named as a finalist and is proud of her achievements over this challenging last year, including becoming a mum, undergoing a rebrand with fully sustainable eco-luxe packaging, as well as pivoting in the face of COVID-19 lockdowns to create a much needed Certified Organic hand sanitiser which won an Australian Non Toxic Award and earned her a Hong Kong distribution contract. She has also secured a soon-to-be-announced government grant that will go towards supporting her region’s people with 23 new jobs, as well as holistic mental health, self-care and wellbeing support, which is needed more than ever.

Theme founded Synthesis Organics in 2015, from an intention to create wellness products of unparalleled purity that could serve as a holistic healing influence that restores us to harmony with Nature and our own true essence.

Alongside her business, Theme also volunteers her time for the International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organisation, a grassroots organisation celebrated at the United Nations dedicated to empowering, celebrating and supporting women in business worldwide.

There are many benefits to balancing business and motherhood as Theme explains:

“It’s a profound gift being able to be a mumpreneur; I’m able to be there for my bub when he needs me and, by building a business in alignment with my values, I know that I’m being a great role model for my son as he grows up”.

It can be challenging to be a successful business woman whilst raising a family and Theme gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own business:

”Make sure the business aligns with your core values because you will spend more time on it than you probably ever imagined! Also, surround yourself with a community of mentors and like-minded business owners who have done something similar successfully, who can keep you inspired and support you during periods of doubt or loneliness, which almost every solo business owner will experience at some point.”

The winners of the 2021 AusMumpreneur Awards will be announced at an online event in September. For more information on the AusMumpreneur Awards visit www.ausmumpreneur.com.
