Stewardship as an Inheritance: Our 2026 Report

At Synthesis Organics, we've never seen sustainability as a box to tick. For us, it's something closer to an inheritance: care for land, ingredients and knowledge, passed thoughtfully from one hand to the next.

Our 2026 Stewardship Report, Seed to Synergy, is our way of showing what that care looks like in practice.

Founded in Bundjalung Country, in the foothills of Wollumbin, we pay our deepest respects to the traditional custodians, the Bundjalung peoples and Elders, past, present and emerging.

"We are living in challenging times, many of us are disconnected from Nature and our true essence," says our founder, Theme Rains. "To bring healing to a world in crisis, we have to start with ourselves."

That belief shapes everything we do. Not sustainability as a policy, but stewardship as an inheritance.

Products

95% of our botanical ingredients come from Australian Certified Organic farms, with some, like our calendula, hand-harvested and extracted in our own Organic Lab. Every formula is palm-free, removing the risk category rather than managing it. And every batch is made in-house at Heart Quarters, beginning with a meditation practice and crafted through our Energy Imbued®️ process, where nature, science and spirit meet.

Planet

Our eco-factory in the forest generated 44.4% of the property's energy from on-site solar this year, with the rest from certified clean energy. Water flows from an artesian spring and harvested rain. 82.4% of our packaging is post-consumer recycled or bio-based, all of it recyclable, and through Greenfleet we offset 1.7 times our measured footprint.

People

Our people are precious. Our team is paid materially above award wages, with a monthly product allowance, yoga, sound healing and tea ceremonies.  Heart Quarters welcomes emerging brands as a gathering place guided by community over competition. Through i=Change, our customers have made 6,447 donations to reef restoration and women's shelters, and we gifted $25,000 in pro bono formulation to Indigenous charity The Returning, with full IP rights transferred to support lasting income for their community.

Path Forward

Looking ahead, Synthesis Organics has set six clear commitments: maintain carbon-positive status by offsetting above its measured footprint, expand solar and battery storage to cover the property's homes, install HQ sub-metering to confirm facility-level renewable coverage, finalise its seaweed-based packaging partnership with Uluu, build on its 82.4% recycled or bio-based packaging, and publish its next annual Impact Summary.

What we take, we return. Where a bottle is the beginning of the next bottle, not the end.
